Black Shutters

This window is in New Market, MD, one of my favorite places to paint, especially years ago. New Market was known as the antiques capital of Maryland. Almost every house along Main Street was an antique shop of sorts and the owners always kept the exteriors of their homes inviting. There were always planters with flowers and other assortments of arrangements. This is the only stone house on Main Street, and I have painted the doors and windows numerous times.

I think this window view is particularly neat because you can see right through the house to the trees on the other side.

Oil on linen/panel, 6 x 6 inches.
